Vítězslav Jaroš was brought to AFC Ajax last summer on the recommendation of then-head coach John Heitinga. The goalkeeper was loaned from Liverpool, which sees a lot of future in the young Czech.

Takehiro Tomiyasu signed with AFC Ajax in mid-December, which brought him peace of mind. The Japanese player was a free transfer after his contract with Arsenal was terminated in July.

Oleksandr Zinchenko came to AFC Ajax during the winter transfer window, after lengthy negotiations finally reached an agreement with Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, which loaned him. The Ukrainian was hired as a left-back, but could also have played as a defensive midfielder.
