AFC Ajax will not proceed with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and goalkeeper Vítezslav Jaros. The Amsterdam team has decided not to extend the stay of the trio, they announced on Tuesday.

What happened?

The 24-year-old Jaros was loaned from Liverpool last season and was the first goalkeeper for a long time. The Czech had to miss the decisive phase of the season due to a knee injury.

Why is this important for AFC Ajax?

Zinchenko has played only two games for AFC Ajax due to a serious knee injury. The former player of Arsenal, Manchester City, and PSV was signed in February, but was injured soon after.

What's next?

Just before that, Tomiyasu had arrived in Amsterdam, after not playing a game for a year and a half due to a serious knee injury. The defender played only sporadically for AFC Ajax and made nine appearances.
