AFC Ajax has achieved a significant financial turnaround. The Amsterdam club reported a net profit of two million euros for the 2025/26 season.

This marks a major improvement on the previous financial year, when Ajax posted a loss of 37.3 million euros. The club attributes the profit to a better transfer balance and an improved operational result. Total revenue was 188.3 million euros, while costs came to 206.5 million euros.

The return to the Champions League contributed strongly to the higher income. The club's equity increased to 191 million euros. Transfers of players like Jorrel Hato, Brian Brobbey and Kenneth Taylor led to a positive transfer result of 65.5 million euros. After depreciation, this remained a positive 26.7 million euros.

Operational results improved by 1.2 million euros to a negative result of 18.2 million euros. The club compensated the public for the cancelled home match against FC Groningen and paid for the dismissal of John Heitinga.

In the current season, Ajax is competing in the Conference League instead of the Champions League, which is expected to reduce revenue by tens of millions of euros. On the pitch, Ajax currently sits fifth in the Eredivisie with fourteen points from seven games. The last five results read DWWLW. The next fixture is at home against NEC Nijmegen on October 10th.
