AFC Ajax is close to signing Fouad Zahouani. The Amsterdam club has reached an agreement with the Moroccan Union Touarga Sport on the transfer of the twenty-year-old left-back.
The transfer of Zahouani is a major victory for AFC Ajax, which outmaneuvers several major European clubs in the battle for the Moroccan world champion. Among others, AC Milan, Udinese, and VfB Stuttgart were also after him.
The good relationship between technical director Jordi Cruijff and Mo Sinouh gave AFC Ajax an advantage in the negotiations. Zahouani sees AFC Ajax as the ideal step to further develop himself.
Zahouani will initially join the reserves of AFC Ajax. Once he has acclimatized, he will move to the first team. It is expected that AFC Ajax will soon reach a full agreement with Zahouani himself.
