Ajax has comfortably qualified for the group stage of the Conference League. The Amsterdam side beat FC Sion 5-3 on Thursday night in a match where striker Tolu Arokodare stood out.

Youri Baas opened the scoring after just thirty-five seconds. The defender tapped in a rebound to put Ajax on the right track immediately. FC Sion managed to get back into the game briefly, but Ajax restored order before half-time. The final score eventually read 5-3.

Tolu Arokodare, who started the match, was the most notable performer for Ajax. The forward received a rating of 8 for his display. Fellow attacker Abdellah Ouazane also played well and was given a 7.5.

At the other end, the defence looked shaky at times. None of the defenders received a failing grade, but their ratings were lower than those of the attackers. Substitute Marcos Leonardo was less fortunate. He missed several chances and was the only player to leave the pitch with a failing mark.

The victory means Ajax has qualified for the next phase of the European competition. The team can now focus on upcoming league matches. The next task for manager Maurice Steijn's side is an away fixture in the Eredivisie. The 5-3 win over Sion provides confidence for the remainder of the season.
