AFC Ajax host NEC Nijmegen at home in the Eredivisie on Saturday evening. The Amsterdam side are looking to move on from their 2-2 draw against Excelsior three weeks ago.
The team currently sits fifth in the league table with fourteen points from seven matches. They have scored twenty-one goals this season while conceding only nine. Top scorer Julian Brandt has found the net four times in seven appearances.
The last meeting between Ajax and NEC ended in a 1-1 draw back in February. NEC travel to Amsterdam from eleventh place in the standings. Their last league outing was a 1-1 draw with Go Ahead Eagles.
In the home match against Excelsior, goals came from Brandt and Tolu Arokodare for Ajax. The lineup fielded that day, featuring players like Marc-André ter Stegen and Oscar Gloukh, could provide a blueprint for the upcoming fixture. The full squad list is available on our squad page.
Kick-off at the Johan Cruijff Arena is scheduled for 21:00 on Saturday. A win is important to keep pace with the leaders in the Eredivisie. The latest league table can always be checked on our standings page.
